Kathy Day is assistant dean and director of Graduate Business Programs at Saint Louis University (SLU) John Cook School of Business. Kathy came to SLU in early 2000 as Director of Career Services. Prior to SLU, Kathy enjoyed a career in business and teaching.

Her business experience encompassed leadership roles in accounting, auditing (CPA), financial reporting, communication, customer relations, recruiting, training, business management, and entrepreneurship. Her list of previous employers includes organizations now known as Ernst & Young, Boeing, IBM, and Energizer. Kathy also helped her husband, Tom, run a specialty retail store, which they co-owned.

Kathy earned her bachelor’s degree in French and her MBA from Saint Louis University. Kathy enjoys executive education and has pursued programs in areas such as leadership, asset-based thinking, and coaching. She has been active in the community and on SLU’s business alumni and women’s leadership boards. She is a founding member of the Gruenberg Society, which promotes business alumnae giving back to SLU. In 2006 she was appointed as a member of the governing body of ATHENAPowerlink, a program that provides mentoring to women business owners. She is currently the President of the Women’s Commission at SLU. Kathy has been recognized for service and performance through the IBM Golden Circle Award, a SLU Alumni Merit Award, and the Helen Towles Rohan Award for Service at Rohan Woods School.

Kathy is an officer of the Jesuit MBA consortium and has presented research on employer preferences in hiring (2004 conference of the Midwest Association of Colleges and Employers). She also presented on the personal touch in relationship management at a part-time MBA leadership conference in 2007. Kathy has taught undergraduate courses to help orient freshmen and transfer students to campus and has facilitated professional and career development courses for MBA students. Kathy’s passion is to help organizations and individuals find their path to success using a coaching perspective.

Ampy Kollman-Moore

Ampy Kollman-Moore was born in Cartagena, Colombia and received a BS degree from the Colombo-American Cultural Institute. Since 2001, she has been providing International Business Consulting services to companies in the United States and Latin America through her practice as Ampy Kollman-Moore, LLC.

After relocating to the United States she joined Mallinckrodt, Inc. in 1973 and after many promotions in 1998 was appointed President for the Latin American operations where she led a staff of 200 people. Mallinckrodt was a worldwide leader in the manufacturing, marketing and distribution of medical products in the healthcare industry, which was acquired by Tyco in 2000. Ampy was the first woman appointed to the position of Director within Mallinckrodt’s Medical businesses to head up a major market business segment, and the only female to hold a President’s title for this $2.8 billion dollar company. Throughout her career she has demonstrated unique leadership skills in business development, employee motivation, market vision, positive people interaction, company dedication and a diverse market understanding.

In addition to her undergraduate work, she has completed executive management studies at Penn State University and received an Executive Masters degree in International Business from Saint Louis University where she was later honored with the Outstanding Alumni Award. She is currently Adjunct Faculty for Latin American studies at the University, and leads an Immersion in Emerging Markets course. She is an alumnus of Leadership America’s class of 1999.

Her community involvement ranges from being the Group Chair for Fair Saint Louis in 2005 to having created the multi-cultural entertainment Global Village in 2002. Member, Board of Directors of the International Institute of Metropolitan St. Louis, and the Advisory Board of the Boeing Institute for International Business at Saint Louis University’s John Cook School of Business. Board Member and Business Development Committee Chair for the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan St. Louis.

She is married to Ronald J. Moore, has 2 married daughters, and resides in West St. Louis County.
