Support Returning SLU Students –
Welcome Back Week

by Ana Sontag

Think back to when your student moved to Saint Louis University for the first time. Were they nervous about their new transition or excited to take the leap? Now as a returning student, are they looking forward to returning to SLU or a bit nervous once again?

Even after being a SLU student for a year, two or even three years, students still experience a transition as they enter a different academic year. Sophomores may not be living in the same residence halls as all of their friends from their freshmen year, leading them to make new friends while maintaining old friendships. Juniors might be taking on more student leadership roles and may need to understand how to balance all of their responsibilities. While seniors may be looking toward their future after graduation, they also may be reflecting on the connections they have made related to their past, present and future. Full story

Academic Checklists

If your student hasn’t already, now would be a great time to refer to their class checklist to make sure they are on track in their academic career at SLU. This will help them get the most out of their educational experience and feel a sense of accomplishment. These are suggestions to help throughout the years, but should not be seen as an all encompassing list or required checklist.
