About the lecture:
Dr. Coy D. Fitch inspired generations of physicians during his thirty-three year tenure at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He began his service to Saint Louis University in 1967 as Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and Biochemistry. Dr. Fitch focused on growing the Department of Internal Medicine into one of the premiere programs in the nation. His vision for the department centered on providing superior care and treating patients with respect. Early in his career at SLU, Dr. Fitch established the Division of Endocrinology and later went on to serve as chair of the Department of Internal Medicine from 1985-2000. Throughout his entire career, he kept a laboratory of active research on malaria that remains internationally recognized.
