Alumni Volunteers Needed For Scholarship Interviews
The Office of Undergraduate Admission is looking for alumni volunteers to serve as interviewers for our three upcoming scholarship weekends.

In February and March 2014, the Office of Admission will host three interview weekends in conjunction with two freshman scholarships: the Presidential Scholarship and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship. As we prepare to select the next group of scholars from the incoming freshman class, please consider serving as an interviewer at one or more of our 2014 scholarship weekends.

The prestigious Presidential Scholarship is a full-tuition academic award that continues to attract the nation’s most outstanding high school students.  Approximately 500 candidates and their families will be invited to campus over the course of two consecutive weekends to compete for an award.  Interviews will take place on Saturday, February 15 and Saturday, February 22.

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship is awarded to students committed to promoting diversity in society. Awardees must demonstrate leadership in multicultural, school or community activities that espouse Dr. King’s ideals and present a vision for increasing diversity on SLU’s campus. Interviews for this scholarship will take place on Saturday, March 22.

Breakfast and lunch will be served at each event. Each program also features a Friday evening reception that gives interviewers an informal opportunity to meet the candidates the night before their interviews.

Because the magnitude of each scholarship weekend requires the involvement of so many individuals, your participation as an interviewer is essential to the success of these programs.  To volunteer as an interviewer for either Presidential Scholarship Weekend or Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Weekend please register at

Should you be able to participate, Aimee Foster, Program Coordinator for Campus Visits, will contact you with further details following your registration.  If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact Aimee at (314) 977-4169 or afoste16@slu.edu.
