Who can join?
Alumni who have graduated from Saint Louis University over the past
15 years from either undergraduate or graduate programs are automatically
members of YAA.
What are the requirements to join the YAA Advisory Board?
Alumni must serve as a general or committee member, or chair person.
Members are required to attend appropriate committee meetings and
participate in general meetings.
What YAA committees can I join?
Marketing Communications
The Marketing Chair and committee members are responsible for promotion
of YAA. This includes promoting the events and activities of YAA
to prospective members through email, mail and Facebook. The Marketing
Chair will work with university staff to maintain the website and
Facebook page.
Events and Activities
The Special Event Chair and committee members are responsible for
the planning and implementation of special events hosted by YAA.
Events include networking opportunities such as happy hours, Billiken
athletics and other sporting activities, educational events geared
towards young professionals such as cooking classes, wine and beer
tastings, home buying seminars, and other alumni sponsored events.
Membership Recruitment
The Membership Chair and committee members are responsible for recruiting
alumni to serve on the YAA advisory board. Recruitment includes
requesting nominations from other alumni leaders, faculty and staff
advisors and creative planning to engage alumni and encourage them
to become more involved. If you are interested in becoming a member
of the Young Alumni Advisory Board please e-mail us at youngalumni@slu.edu.
Where do the meetings take place?
YAA meetings take place the second Thursday every month at 6:30
p.m. in DuBourg Hall and usually run about an hour in length.
How can I join?
Simply email youngalumni@slu.edu
and someone will contact you with the location of the next meeting
and will be able to answer any questions you may have concerning
YAA.
